Creating an online course has never been easier, but creating a good online course still takes time. As someone who spent years working as a teacher before reviewing online learning platforms full-time, I know firsthand how much work goes into planning lessons, organizing content, creating assessments, and making sure learners stay engaged throughout the learning experience.

Traditionally, course creation has involved hours of research, writing, editing, and structuring. Whether you’re building employee training, onboarding materials, educational content, or coaching programs, creating a course from scratch can quickly become overwhelming.

This is where AI-powered course creation tools are starting to change the game. One platform that has recently caught my attention is iSpring Suite AI. Instead of starting with a blank page, the platform uses artificial intelligence to help generate course structures, lesson content, quizzes, and supporting materials in a matter of minutes.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through exactly how to create a course with AI using iSpring Suite AI, share my experience testing the platform, and explain whether it’s worth considering for your own projects.

iSpring Suite AI Summary

iSpring Suite AI is an eLearning authoring tool designed to help educators, trainers, instructional designers, and businesses create online courses more efficiently.

The platform combines traditional course authoring capabilities with AI-powered tools that can assist throughout the course development process.

Rather than manually building every lesson from scratch, users can provide a topic description or upload existing materials, such as Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, or other reference content. The AI then analyzes the information and helps generate a structured course framework.

What makes iSpring Suite AI particularly interesting is that it doesn’t simply generate text. The AI can help with; Creating course outlines, generating lesson content, summarizing information, rewriting and simplifying text, creating quiz questions, improving grammar and readability and translating content into multiple languages.

The goal isn’t necessarily to replace instructional designers or subject-matter experts. Instead, the platform aims to reduce the repetitive work involved in course creation so that creators can focus on refining and improving the learning experience.

Another thing I appreciated during testing was how approachable the platform feels.

Many eLearning authoring tools can feel intimidating when you first open them. There are often dozens of menus, settings, and technical options to navigate.

iSpring Suite AI takes a more guided approach. Getting started is relatively straightforward, and the AI features are integrated directly into the workflow rather than feeling like separate tools bolted onto the platform.

Why Use AI for Course Creation?

Before looking at the process itself, it’s worth understanding why AI-assisted course creation is becoming increasingly popular. One of the biggest challenges course creators face is simply getting started.

Many people know their subject matter extremely well but struggle to organize their knowledge into a structured learning experience.
Creating learning objectives, breaking content into modules, writing lesson material, and developing assessments all take time. AI can help accelerate many of these tasks.

For example, instead of spending hours deciding how to organize a course, AI can generate a logical course structure based on your topic. Instead of manually writing every quiz question, AI can create assessment questions from existing lesson content.

And instead of rewriting content repeatedly to improve clarity, AI can suggest revisions in seconds. Of course, AI isn’t perfect. The content it generates still needs reviewing, fact-checking, and personalization.

However, when used correctly, it can significantly reduce the amount of time required to move from an idea to a finished course.
For educators, trainers, consultants, coaches, and businesses creating learning content regularly, those time savings can quickly add up.

How to Create a Course with AI Using iSpring Suite AI

Let’s look at the actual process. For my test, I decided to create a course on Leadership Fundamentals. I chose this topic because it’s relevant in both professional and personal settings, making it a good example of the type of content many organizations and educators might create.

To get started, I selected the option to create a course with AI and entered a short description explaining what I wanted the course to cover.
This description acts as the foundation for the AI-generated content, so it’s worth spending a few minutes making it clear and specific.

If you already have materials prepared, you can also upload supporting documents such as PDFs, Word files, or existing course materials. This allows the AI to use your content as a reference when generating the course.

Reviewing and Editing the AI-Generated Course

Within a few minutes, iSpring Suite AI generated the course details for me. This included a proposed course title, description, learning objectives, and an outline of the topics the course would cover.

One thing I liked immediately was that nothing felt locked in. If something wasn’t quite right, I could edit it before moving on to the next stage. This is important because AI-generated content is rarely perfect on the first attempt. Instead of forcing you to accept the suggestions, iSpring gives you the flexibility to refine them as you go.

Once I was happy with the course details, I clicked Create Outline and let the AI build the structure of the course.
After a short wait, the platform generated a complete course framework.

This is where things started to get interesting. The AI had already broken the topic down into logical sections and lessons. Instead of staring at a blank page wondering where to begin, I already had a structured foundation to work from.

When I clicked Open in Editor, I could see the entire course laid out in front of me. On the left-hand side is the Outline panel, which allows you to navigate between lessons and modules quickly. This made it easy to understand how the course flowed from one topic to the next.

For anyone who has built courses manually before, this alone can save a significant amount of time. Creating a strong course structure is often one of the most time-consuming parts of the process, especially if you’re trying to organize large amounts of information into a logical learning journey.

Customizing the Course Content

While I was impressed by the AI-generated structure, what stood out to me even more was how easy it was to customize the course once it had been created.

One of the concerns many people have with AI course creation tools is that they might feel restrictive or force you into using whatever the AI generates. Fortunately, that wasn’t my experience with iSpring Suite AI. Instead, the platform provides a strong starting point while still giving you complete control over the final course.

Once the outline had been generated, I was able to review each section individually and make changes wherever necessary. If a lesson wasn’t quite right, I could regenerate it using AI. If I wanted to reorganize the flow of the course, I could move lessons around and restructure entire sections. I could also manually edit the content, add additional information, or remove anything that wasn’t relevant.

The platform also supports a variety of content elements, including images, tables, columns, and other visual components that can help make learning materials more engaging. This is particularly useful if you’re creating training content for employees or educational courses where learner engagement is important.

Overall, I felt that iSpring Suite AI strikes a good balance between automation and flexibility. Rather than taking control away from the creator, the AI acts more like an assistant that helps accelerate the process while still allowing you to make the final decisions.

Using AI to Improve Existing Content

Another feature I found particularly useful was the ability to improve and refine content directly within the editor. One of the most time-consuming parts of course creation is often the editing process. Even when you know your subject matter well, it’s not always easy to explain concepts clearly or maintain a consistent writing style throughout an entire course.

During my testing, I found that the AI tools could be genuinely helpful when refining lesson content. For example, if a section felt too long, the AI could shorten it. If an explanation was overly technical, it could simplify the language. It could also help summarize key points, improve grammar, correct awkward phrasing, and generate additional explanations where necessary.

This functionality can be particularly valuable when creating larger training programs with multiple modules. Maintaining consistency across dozens of lessons can be challenging, and having AI available to assist with editing helps streamline that process considerably.

What I liked most is that everything happens inside the course editor itself. Rather than copying content into a separate AI tool and then pasting it back into your course, the entire workflow remains within the iSpring environment, making the experience much more efficient.

AI Quiz Generation

One feature that I think will appeal to many trainers and educators is the AI quiz generator. Creating assessments is an essential part of course development, but it’s often one of the most repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Writing effective quiz questions requires more than simply testing whether learners can remember information. Questions need to align with the learning objectives of the course and accurately assess understanding.

With iSpring Suite AI, quiz questions can be generated directly from your lesson content. The AI analyzes the material and creates assessment questions based on the topics covered within the course.

While I would still recommend reviewing and refining the generated questions before publishing, having a solid first draft already prepared can save a significant amount of time. This is especially valuable for organizations creating onboarding programs, compliance training, certification courses, or employee development initiatives where assessments are required throughout the learning journey. In my view, this is one of the most practical AI features included within the platform because it addresses a real challenge that many course creators face.

My Experience Using iSpring Suite AI

After creating my Leadership Fundamentals course, I came away with a generally positive impression of the platform.

What stood out to me most was how approachable the entire experience felt from start to finish. Many eLearning authoring tools can be intimidating when you’re first getting started. They often include a large number of menus, settings, and technical features that can create a steep learning curve for new users. iSpring Suite AI felt different.

The workflow is guided, intuitive, and easy to follow. Even though the platform offers a wide range of functionality, I never felt overwhelmed by the number of options available. Instead, the process felt structured in a way that naturally guided me through each stage of course creation.

I also appreciated how the AI features were integrated into the platform. Rather than feeling like separate tools added on top of an existing product, they felt like a natural part of the overall workflow. Whether I was creating content, editing lessons, generating quizzes, or organizing course materials, the AI was available when needed without becoming intrusive.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from my experience is that the AI features felt genuinely useful. Many software companies are currently adding AI functionality because it’s a popular trend, but not every implementation provides meaningful value. In contrast, iSpring Suite AI focuses on solving practical problems that course creators face every day, helping reduce the amount of repetitive work involved in course development.

iSpring Suite AI Pricing

If you’re considering iSpring Suite AI, it’s worth understanding how the pricing works before making a decision.

At the time of writing, there are two primary options available for users who want access to iSpring’s AI-powered functionality: iSpring Suite AI and iSpring Cloud AI.

iSpring Suite AI is the more advanced offering and includes the full eLearning authoring toolkit, access to the content library, and the AI-powered course creation features. Pricing starts at approximately $1,290 per author per year, making it the better choice for users who need advanced authoring capabilities and regularly create online learning content.

For those looking for a simpler browser-based experience, iSpring Cloud AI is available starting at approximately $720 per user annually. This plan focuses more heavily on AI-assisted course generation and cloud-based course creation.

One thing I particularly appreciated is that both plans include access to 24/7 technical support from real support agents. During my testing, I contacted the support team several times with questions about the platform and consistently received quick, helpful responses. In an industry where many companies increasingly rely on chatbots and automated support systems, having access to knowledgeable human support can make a significant difference.

iSpring also offers a 14-day free trial, allowing potential users to test the platform before committing financially. Refund requests are available as well, although these are reviewed on a case-by-case basis rather than being covered by a standard refund policy.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I came away impressed with iSpring Suite AI.

What stood out to me most wasn’t simply the AI itself, but how naturally it fits into the course creation process. Rather than trying to replace course creators, the platform focuses on helping them work faster by reducing many of the repetitive tasks involved in building online courses.

I also appreciated how beginner-friendly the experience felt. From generating course outlines and lesson content to creating quizzes and refining text, the AI tools were easy to use and genuinely helpful throughout the workflow.

That said, it’s important to remember that AI is still a tool, not a replacement for good instructional design. You’ll still need to review your content, personalize it for your audience, and ensure it meets your learning objectives.

Overall, I think iSpring Suite AI is best suited to educators, trainers, businesses, consultants, and course creators who regularly produce learning content and want to save time without sacrificing quality.

If your goal is to create online courses faster and streamline the development process, iSpring Suite AI is definitely worth considering.
